Good, an arch-conservative backed by former President Donald Trump, trails his GOP challenger, state Sen. Bryce Reeves, in the race for the Republican nomination in Virginia's 5th Congressional District. Reeves has been critical of Good's support for Trump and his role in the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
With most of the votes counted, Reeves leads Good by a narrow margin. The outcome of the race is still too close to call.
The primary race has been closely watched as a test of Trump's influence within the Republican Party. A loss for Good would be a setback for Trump and his allies.
